Built for the seasons

Benchmarks that know your climate.

Michigan in January doesn't look like Florida in January. Most dashboards compare you against a generic annual average — and tell you your margins are "below benchmark" in the middle of a snowstorm.

We adjust benchmarks by climate zone (5 zones across the US) and the specific months you're reporting. So your comparison is against landscape companies in your situation, not someone running year-round in Miami.

Dormant season · benchmarks adjusted for Michigan
Gross margin (what's left after job costs)22%
Dormant-season range: 18–42%You're in the range ✓
Without seasonal adjustment: you'd be told you're 11 pts below benchmark.
With it: you're right where you should be for January in Michigan.

Benchmarks that know your season

Climate-zone seasonal benchmark adjustments

Michigan in January looks nothing like Florida in January. Your margins are compared against landscape companies in your climate zone, for the months you're actually reporting. No more being told you're "below benchmark" in the middle of a snowstorm.

Catch things before they become problems

Smart anomaly alerts · payroll spikes · margin drops · unclassified transactions

We watch for revenue spikes, cost overruns, extra payroll runs, and uncategorized QuickBooks transactions — and tell you before your numbers get stale.

Plan vs. reality, every month

Budget vs Actual with KPI margins, prior-year comparison, and variance flags

Set your annual budget once with seasonal presets or auto-fill from last year with a growth %. See GPM as % of sales, net income margin, labor %, and COGS % — budget vs actual vs prior year, side by side.

Which division actually makes money?

Division Compare · side-by-side revenue, margin, and EBITDA · 9 service types

Maintenance vs. fertilization vs. snow vs. enhancements — stacked side-by-side with industry benchmarks for each service type. 9 division categories: Lawn Care, Landscaping, Tree Care, Irrigation, Fertilization & Chemical, Enhancements, Pest Control, Snow Removal, and Multi-Service.

Where your money actually goes

How this year compares to last year

Year-over-year analysis · dollar and % deltas · EBITDA deltas

Up to 5 years side-by-side with every P&L line item. Color-coded favorable/unfavorable so you see what moved — and why — in seconds.

Ask your numbers a question

AI Financial Assistant powered by GPT-4.1 with live QBO data

Type a question in plain English — "why is my gross margin down?" — and get an answer that pulls from your real QuickBooks data. Like having a CFO on call.

Forecasts that learn from themselves

Cash projection accuracy · trend analysis · seasonal bias detection

We reconcile your past forecasts against what actually happened, track accuracy over time, and flag seasonal biases so next year's projections get smarter.

Are your books even trustworthy?

Book Health Score (A–F) · reconciliation detection · unclassified balance · currency check

Before you trust any number, you need to know if the books behind it are solid. We automatically check reconciliation status, uncategorized transactions, and data gaps — and grade your books A through F. If your bookkeeper is behind, you'll know before the numbers mislead you.

Weekly revenue — beyond QuickBooks

Service Autopilot CSV upload · MTD + division breakdown · pacing vs. monthly budget

QuickBooks books revenue as a single monthly journal entry, so you can't see the week. Drop in your Service Autopilot invoice report and see live MTD revenue, pacing vs. your monthly budget, a division breakdown (Maintenance, Chemical, Enhancements…), and Residential vs. Commercial — refreshed every time you upload. Direct integrations with Aspire (API) and LMN are coming soon.

Built For

Landscape, snow &
maintenance companies.

We know seasonal revenue swings, division-level P&L, crew labor ratios, and the metrics that matter for green industry operators.

Designed for owners running $500K to $5M in revenue — but the dashboard scales happily to $10M+ with multi-division support, so you don't outgrow it as you grow.

FAQ

Frequently asked
questions.

How is this different from what my bookkeeper gives me?
Your bookkeeper tells you what happened last month. GreenBizKPI tells you what's going to happen in the next 13 weeks — the difference between a rearview mirror and a windshield. Both matter, but you need forward visibility to make real decisions.
I'm an owner, not an accountant. Will I actually understand this?
Yes. Owner View is built for you: 3 hero numbers answering "am I making money, am I growing, is anything broken?" — in plain English. If your bookkeeper or fractional CFO wants the technical version, they flip one toggle to Advisor View and see the full P&L, EBITDA, ratios, everything. Same data, two audiences.
How do the seasonal benchmarks work?
Most benchmarks compare you against an annual average, which is useless if you run in Michigan or Maine. We adjust margin benchmarks by climate zone and the months you're actually reporting on — so a Northeast company in January isn't unfairly compared to a Florida year-round operation.
How does the 13-Week Cash Forecast work?
It analyzes your same 13-week window from last year as a seasonal baseline, adjusts it by your year-over-year growth rate, layers in your open bills by due date, detects your payroll pattern, and lets you add manual cash events for anything you know is coming. The result is a week-by-week projection of your cash position with critical-week alerts.
How does GreenBizKPI connect to my QuickBooks?
We use the official QuickBooks Online API with read-only access via Intuit's secure OAuth. We never store your QuickBooks password and we never modify, create, or delete anything in your books. You can disconnect any time.
What if I don't have a full year of QuickBooks data?
The forecast falls back to a trailing average from whatever history you have. You can also enter Weekly Cash data manually, and the forecast will use that as its baseline until you've built up enough history.
Can I add known future expenses or deposits to the forecast?
Yes — Manual Cash Events let you add specific inflows or outflows to any week, or mark them as recurring to apply across all 13 weeks. The forecast recalculates instantly.
Is my financial data secure?
QuickBooks tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest. All traffic is bank-grade TLS. Your data is isolated per company — no other customer can see it. We're hosted on Vercel's SOC 2 compliant infrastructure.
Can multiple people on my team access the dashboard?
Yes. Your plan includes unlimited team members. You can invite people as Viewers (read-only) or Admins.
What if my books are a mess? Will the numbers even be accurate?
That's exactly why we built the Book Health Score. Before showing you any numbers, we automatically check whether your books are reconciled, how current your data is, and how much money is sitting in uncategorized accounts. You get a grade from A to F so you know instantly whether to trust the numbers — or whether your bookkeeper needs to catch up first.
Do you support QuickBooks Desktop?
Not yet — QuickBooks Online only. Desktop support is on our roadmap.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Your data stays safe. You lose access to the dashboard until you resubscribe. We never delete your data, and you can export everything as CSV or PDF while your account is active.
